Club Captains Report Hello to all. Hope we are enjoying our golf. Hello to all. Hope we are enjoying our golf. Well done to the winners last week in the 2nd round of the Manukorihi Cup. There was some good golf from Shane Weir with 47 to go with his 45 which took the honours, so well-done Shane-O, great golf. John Chandler snuck in for second place, so well-done JC. Some good news was forthcoming as Robbie Busing had to pull out of the Purdie Cup which forced a reshuffle of the draw. SO, I don’t have to play Gary (the tiger) Fulton and give away 32 shots. Gary said I was scared to play him….I replied… NO it was only the 32nd shot that was a concern. The top sixteen sheet is up, so have a l

Club Captains Report Hello to all. Hope we are enjoying our golf. Well done to the winners last week in the Ambrose bash around. Thanks to my partner Mrs. John we had a good match and I think it’s good that we mix and match across the club members as that is what a club is about. Marie said good to see someone hit such long drives as she is used to playing with JR……sorry JR. But she did birdie the 6th all on her own and we had a good combo going. We had a good battle with the Big Butler (David) and now named Mr. WHIPPY (Richie Ransfield). If you’re not sure why Richie has got this nick name…. watch the swirling putting stroke and imagine him serving a Mr. Whippy cone…… But like a swirling c

Club Captains Report Hello to all. Hope we are enjoying our golf. Sorry this is only a quick report again this week... Well done to the winners last week in the self-haggle. Brenden Dew came in with 43 points so well done there, great round. Small turn out from the lad’s side of things as the club boys’ trip was on and by all accounts went very well. Well done JC for putting all of that together. Look forward to some of the stories on Saturday. This week we have the Captains Choice 2 man’s Ambrose. Please be there 8.30 am so we can make up the draw / teams and then after a mass start at 9 am. If you’re not at the draw you’re not in the competition… so, please be aware of that and also it is

2019 Boy's NZ Trip

This year’s tour was organised by JC, so it was back to his old stomping ground in in the metropolis of Turangi. Day 1 After all the pickups the three vans met up and left from the Urenui pub early Friday after our team talk. On the way to Turangi we played at Waimarino, tee off at 11:30. The course was in great condition and so long as you stayed out of the short but thick rough you were in for a great round. Terry Butts managed all of the above and came in with a great score. After a feed of venison burgers we set off for Turangi. Arriving late afternoon, we checked in to the great accommodation arranged by JC, after a couple or 10 pre dinner drinks, off to Burger King then pub to hang out
