Club Captains Report On Saturday 24th November we had the Manukorihi Cup Round Two. It was a bit of a washout with only a handful of hardy golfers turning up to play in the very wet spring conditions. The Finals for the Manukorihi Cup will be played this Saturday 1st December. On Sunday 25th November we had the New World Open Xmas Hamper at Manukorihi. The weather was a lot better than Saturday and we managed to get most of the round in without rain, but the tail end of the field got a good old drenching in the afternoon. We had a field of seventy golfers with a few pulling out in the morning because of the predicted weather conditions. The course and greens where in a fantastic condition an

Club Captains Report On Saturday 10th November we had the Captains Choice, Two Person Ambrose Competition. This was a Mass start at 9.00 a.m and the format was combined handicap divided by two & best net. I think everyone that played in this competition enjoyed their day by the positive comments that I received after the round. We made it a free day to enter and only had Xmas raffles for players to purchase if they wanted to. JR came up with the idea for the picking of partners by lining everyone up in two lines 20 handicap & below in one line and 20 handicap and above in the other and then we started at the front and matched up the pairs. It was a good opportunity to play with someone that

Club Captains Report On the weekend of Saturday 3rd November to Monday the 5th November the Manukorihi Men had their annual golf tour. It was a great weekend away up north with a good bunch of guys which I believe all had a great time together on tour. I would like to thank Paul Rauputu & Shane Weir for organizing the trip as it went off without a hitch all weekend. I would also like to thank the van drivers for their efforts in getting all of us there and home safely. Last of all I would like to thank the thirty-two players that came away on the tour for their behaviour and great attitudes to the whole tour. All the players that were away on tour I would go with again as they represented Ma

Mens tour 2018

Yet another fantastic trip for the Boys annual tour 2018, an outstanding number of new members and established regulars went on the trip, 32 in total. The weather was fine but the wind did blow! everyone had a challenging time on the selected courses, Te Awamutu, Windross and St Andrews in Hamilton. However, the social was terrific with lots of laughs and banter. A new club record for the amount of 3 putts at St Andrews 148 all up. Thanks to Paul Rauputu a massive effort to set up a great trip, and the van drivers Dave, Mike and Shane also all the organisers who made the occasion a success. A great event and one not to be missed add it to your social diary for 2019..!

Club Captains Report The 2018 Shoot Out was started with the weather threatening to make the day more of a challenge than was already setup for. It held off until all completed, just a couple of light showers which didn't affect some of the players that were chasing the prize money. Nathan and Trevor were down on the 10th Tee block attempting to cook the BBQ, waiting to find the other eight challengers who were playing the front nine. Nathan and Trevor were pleased to see Chef Butts turn up to make sure the sausages were cooked and bread buttered correctly. The next eight were found with Shane Weir topping the group with a 30 nett and Austin and Bing just scrapping in with 34.5 net each. The
