On Saturday Night we had the Quiz Night and it was a very enjoyable night for everyone that came along for the nights entertainment.

There was a wide variety of questions from our Quizmaster Paul Rauputu who did a great job in putting the Quiz together.

I would like to thank David & Lee ( Le Dejeuner ) for the lovely supper that was made for all of us to enjoy after the Quiz.

I would also like to thank my daughter Billie for helping in the Bar on the night.

Lastly, I would like to thank the members and their partners and family that came along and supported the quiz night.

I had people come up to me after the quiz and say that they had an enjoyable night and that they would be keen to come along to another function in the future.

Thank You.

Steven Voyle.

Le Dejeuner Catering Wednesday Club.

What a beautiful morning looking down the fairways at the Manukorihi Golf Course waiting for the green staff to give the Wednesday lads a starting time due to the heavy frost.

We teed off at 10am from the 1st and 13th tees, some of the lads were very slow to get going as it took some time to warm up, The best of the day was John Chandler in his shorts with 40 points from Tony Bromfield 39, Mike Letterman 37, Jamie Clarges, Gus Crowe and Cliff Oxenham all 36 points and David Butler finished the day with 35 points, there were no 2s or jackpot that is up to $109. Dennis Elliott finished with 19 points to get the wooden spoon.

Le Dejeuner raffle winners, Gus, John Chandler and Terry Prentice picked up 2.

Next week is the first round of the Wednesday Club stroke play. See you all next week.

Cheers

Tuesday Ladies

Another cold and wet day, so apart from a couple of hopeful ladies, no-one turned up to play, so golf was cancelled.

Next Tuesday 3rd July, we will be playing the 1st round stableford of Barbara Sharrock Memorial Trophy, so hopefully the weather will improve by then.

PRO – TIP

Always hold your BALANCE, simple to say not always easy to do especially when you are holding the “big dog.” An exercise to test your balance would be to swing a 7-iron standing with your feet together & try to hit the ball. If you fall over you are putting too much effort into the swing from your “little body,” & you should be using your hands & arms more!!! Doing it properly you will be “feeling that you are HOLDING YOUR BALANCE.”

Good Luck & Happy Golfing.

Professional John Garner.
