Club Captains Report
Hello to all. Hope all is well with you all.
BAR WORK. A new bar roster has been done up by JC thru to August so can you please check the calendar in the bar to see when you are rostered, cheers. Thanks to JC for doing a lot of the bar work, much appreciated.
Gary the clown won the Drinks spin again and I think we should all buy the next one simply so he can’t win again ??? So as for results this week well done to all winners in the net comp.
0-18 Kerry the Edge with 67 and playing well lately as is Gavin Mita whom CHOP CHOP has a eye on for the handicap chop. GO GET THEM CHOP CHOP, DON’T HOLD BACK!!!!!!. Next was the old Sausage OR is it Slippery (as a little bird told me there was a hubby / wife match held Sunday and I can’t disclose what the prize was going to be BUT it was enough for The Sausage to try and sneak an extra shot, playing off a 10 when he was on a 9.The match ended up a draw. Good play Sausage, I won’t say anything and she will never know.
19-up Austin Wood came in with a very tidy 65 and took top spot over Greg Fowler with 68 who was one up on Wayne Beal, Zoro ,John Davey on 69 so well done team, good golfing.
This week is the Joll Cup qualifying round 1, par comp. This comp is Best of 2 out of 3 rounds par and then top 16 go on to Matchplay and others play in the consolation rounds.
June 1st is the GREENKEEPERS REVENGE stableford mass start 9am.What has the Rock got for us this year????? A good fun club day so let’s get in and support the comp.
8th June, Club Matchplay champ’s finals day so the Matchplayers have the right of way on the course. For those who want to play, turn up around 9.30 -10am and we should get a game in. Please remember that some guys are playing 36 holes so please let them play on as it’s their day, thanks. Sorry I won’t be there; the wife has got me counting palm trees in Fiji so I had better do as I am told and go with her. JR will do the job while I am away so thanks JR.
Just a note on that, can we all please take it easy on Marie when they get back. I mean, she has been with JR in a bus for a long time and those of us that have roomed with him on golf trips can understand how she must be feeling (THE MOST PATIENT WOMAN I KNOW).
NOTE WE HAVE MADE SOME CHANGES STARTING THIS SATURDAY FOR THE SWEEP.
PRICE IS NOW $4.00 AND TWOS $1.50, everything else the same.
We will be trying TWO starter sheets, hcps OF 0-18 DIVISON ONE and 19-UP DIVISON TWO so there will be TWO SHEETS. Please put your name on the correct sheet.
Pennant’s Shirts. Please return club shirts from pennants, washed please!
Thanks ...Lofty
Thanks, and good golfing.
Your Club Captain Lofty.

PRO – TIP
CHIPPING is like putting, the better you are the lower your scores.
Visualise the first bounce of the ball is onto the green. (There are exceptions to this.)
You can choose an 8 Iron – a running shot
Or a pitching wedge – a little more height & less roll
A sand wedge or lob wedge – a lot of height & very little roll
Stance/Posture.
Very narrow stance & toes level (square)
Ball middle
Hands forward opposite the front leg
Always hit down NEVER UP!!!
Good Luck & Good Golfing.
Professional John Garner.
