Club Captains Report

Hello to all. Hope we are all well and let’s hope we are almost back to normal….

Well we are slowly getting back into it and I hope you have had a chance to get out for a hit with the weather being fine.

We will be having a match committee over the next few weeks and will try to get our club match play up and going again from where we left it.

RULES:

I know there may be some slight differences, as in currently you can take nearest point of relief in a bunker if you don’t want to use a rake and have ended up in an un-raked spot.

As for the 30 cm given putt… that is an option as we are NOT playing club competitions yet. BUT once we start up again the rule will be to putt out in nett comps and Stableford, but as per normal in match play you can give a put if you want to.

So until the rule change comes from NZ golf we can play the 30 cm given putt.

The club house will OPEN THIS WEEKEND AND FOOD PACKS WILL BE AT THE BAR FOR $5.00 EACH …but still we will have rules with hygiene etc. there will be some food packaged for purchase and we would prefer people to use pay wave etc. if you can please.

NB: A starting sheet will be up from now on so please don’t forget to put down your times for the next Saturday please.

Men can we all tee off the first please.

A TIME SLOT HAS BEEN ADDED TO ALLOW THE PLAYERS COMING OFF THE 18TH to play the 1st AND THEY HAVE RIGHT OF WAY THANKS.

SO first in first served FOR TIME SLOTS.

Pennants is back on!

We have one men’s team still in the hunt so well done Manu 2 they will be taking on Inglewood 2 at Mania GC on Sunday the 7th June, so good luck team and Chop Chop will get the team out ready to charge on.

Thanks, Your club Captain Lofty

Tuesday and Saturday Ladies Report

Midweek and Weekend pennant has been cancelled for 2020 along with all the National competitions.

LGU and Home Pennant will restart in June thru to October 2020.

The programme will pick up as printed for June 2020. Depending on when we pick up the club champs there will be changes but everyone will be informed.

Tuesday Ladies

Great to see so many this week. The course was magnificent and the beautiful autumn day.

Next week we will have a sweepstake and competitions will restart in June.

Due to the Covid 19 regulations Jan will not be in attendance so please bring your own lunch.

Saturday Ladies.

Your golf will restart at 9.30am this Saturday with a sweepstake for the next two weeks and competition will restart June. There will be sandwich packs available at the bar for purchase.

Happy golfing everyone, enjoy your new handicaps.

Cheers Marie

PRO – TIP

PRACTICE is the way to save shots. 20 balls & your putter 2/3 times per week just 15 minutes each session will save you a shot at the week-end competition.

Next week practice the chipping & again you will benefit at the weekend. Only one lousy rotten stinking shot separates 1ST & 2ND.

So the simple way to improve & lower your scores is to PRACTICE !!

Keep Well & Stay Safe

Good Luck & Good Golfing.

Professional John Garner.
